The Giant was the first remake for Black Ops 3. Here’s five things it did wrong.

#5: While I think The Giant makes great use of randomized perks, there are those who dislike them. It’s not all that necessary since it has very little effect on the overall game.

#4: Speaking of perks, two of the additional perks are randomized. Only one of Stamina-up or Deadshot will spawn in your game, which is not only unnecessary in and of itself, but it’s also the two worst perks to make randomized since they’re so strategy dependent.

#3: The Giant lacks the chaotic qualities of the original Der Riese. It’s hard to tell exactly why this is, but it makes the map less enjoyable than the original in my opinion.

#2: The Annihilator specialist weapon is grossly underpowered. It’s useless by round 30, which makes it a non-factor in almost every game.

#1: The Giant wasn’t part of the launch product and instead held back for a day-one DLC. While it’s absolutely worth the money, only having one map on-disc undoubtedly made Black Ops 3 worse. The Giant could have been the more simplistic counterpart to a more complex Shadows of Evil, but Activision’s greed ruined that opportunity.
