The Giant was the first remake for Black Ops 3. Here’s five things it did right.
#5: The Giant makes great use of randomized perks. The map is so small that it doesn’t greatly affect your setup but it still makes each game slightly different from the last.
#4: The Giant also adds some additional perks with Mule Kick and either Stamina-up or Deadshot depending on the game. It just adds a bit more variety to each map compared to the original Der Riese.
#3: Speaking of Der Riese, The Giant has an entirely different aesthetic. Where Der Riese is cold and mechanical, The Giant has a warm hue to it, and the snow made the whole map feel less industrial.
#2: Continuing the Der Riese comparison, The Giant doesn’t have the same Wunderwaffe glitch as Der Riese. While it’s an expected fix and arguably shouldn’t deserve praise, it’s a fix that’s very much appreciated.
#1: Above all, The Giant is its own thing. Unlike the remakes from the Resurrection or Chronicles DLCs, The Giant has its own identity and place in the game’s history.
