Toshinden S playthrough (SEGA Saturn) (1CC)
44Playthrough with Cupido. This game -known as Battle Arena Toshinden Remix outside of Japan -is an updated version of the Playstation game. Its main new features are a story mode and an extra character (Cupido). However the graphics for the Saturn version look considerably worse than the Playstation game, particularity the characters.
The story mode is something that never caught on at the time. Other fighting games would eventually start using it, such as BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger and the Mortal Kombat reboot.
As for the game itself, it's horrendously clunky. The collision detection is a mess, and everything is so slow. The controls aren't very responsive either, which makes doing even some of the basic special moves a chore. Cupido does have a super move and hidden move, but the inputs for these are both so complicated I could never do them in a match (you can see the CPU Cupido use her super move in the last match). Speaking of that, if you beat the game without using a continue, you'll get to fight Sho, if you beat him without using a continue, you'll get to fight Cupido.
Cupido has only ever appeared in this game. In the Saturn sequel her older brother Ripper is looking for her, but story-line wise she's potentially dead, from what I've read.
