Touge (峠?) is the franchise for a series of touge racing games developed by Cave, published by Atlus in Japan and created in the mid 1990s. First episode came out in 1995 on the SegaSaturn platform and the latest episode available to this day (2007) was released on Xbox in 2002. As best seller some titles got a re-release in Atlus ("Atlus Value Plus 1500") and Sony ("PlayStation the Best") bargain editions. The gameplay focuses on import sports cars driving downhill in Japanese mountain passes using the drifting technique on curves. This subgenre is popular in Japan and gain exposure in the western underground culture during the 2000s through the broadcast of the popular anime series Initial D.

Yesterday I recorded part 3 of PS2. Today I recorded Drift Master 1997 of PS1. But part R 2002, the last part of the Touge Series game, should be for Xbox and my Android tablet emulator cannot support playing the Xbox emulator.

The advantages of Touge Max Drift Master PS1 1997 are that you can play story mode like in Need For Speed Series, you can adjust and customize your car, there's Gymkhana mode and you can change the car's name. But the disadvantage of this game is that the driving physics aren't very good, if you drive badly the car can lose control. The race tracks might seem a bit complicated, if you get lost you could get a warning number. The graphics aren't very beautiful, the cars are drawn out of proportion. The story mode is in Japanese, and I can't read Japanese. And in story mode, only Class A cars can be used. You can only customize the car by adjusting the car's tune, changing the car's color, and changing the wheels.

The reason I don't play Story mode is because Story mode doesn't allow me to use my favorite car models. My favorite car in the game, Touge Max Drift Master Class, is higher than Class A. When I play Story mode, the game system forces me to use Class A cars. And I can't read Japanese.

As for the car used in the game, I use the Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 because it replaces the Honda NSX which isn't in the game. It's my second favorite JDM car, after the Honda NSX. If compared to the R32, I like the R33 more because the R33 is newer, more beautiful, and cooler. And the Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 is my favorite car in the game Touge Max Drift Master.
