Jared continues to procrastinate on his LoLK Lunatic 1CC! This time on ExNN'ing the universe, we have Nue Houjuu. And what an Extra Stage UFO's certainly is!

It kinda reminds me of SA in a lot of ways. Upon playing it for the first time, it'll kick your shit in with its rough stage portion on top of some fairly nasty Spell Cards in Green/Rainbow UFO, Nightmare of Heiankyou, and Grudge Bow. However, in practice and after many months of improving, this was easily one of the least taxing ExNN's I've done so far.

The stage is fairly tricky, though under routing there are many tricks you can utilize to save yourself some hassle. I opted for Reimu because her unparalleled forward-focus damage and small hitbox make short work of the stage and a majority of Nue's fight. Kogasa is the only real hassle here; her Spell Cards range from fast, dense, to an odd combination of the two. Learn Kogasa thoroughly or your chances of winning this one are slim.

Nue herself is actually really easy. Nonspells are harder than Flan's and Ran's, though not by that much. I'd say they're roughly as difficult as Koishi's and easier than Okina's and Yukari's.

Only real threats to me during my runs were Green UFO and Rainbow UFO, though I did have to adapt my strategies a bit since I started using Reimu. Red UFO is a lot trickier, though with the route I used it is fairly easy even still. Blue UFO also gets a lot nastier, but if you target the right enemy at the right time - whether it be one of the UFOs or Nue herself - you should come out relatively unscathed.

Grudge Bow also isn't nearly as hard as I remembered, though that might just be my practice and experience speaking so...I'm not entirely sure. Still though, compared to ExNN run-killers such as QED, Boundary of Life and Death, and Anarchy Bullet Hell, it is borderline forgiving in that department. The real hassle is the last phase, which is still far more manageable than QED will ever be.

...Criminy, doing Flandre first really was a great idea, wasn't it? Whether or not I'm using sarcasm, I'll leave for you to decide. =w='

Overall, this is a super fun Extra. The stage provides a good challenge, avoiding UFOs for No Ventra isn't that annoying as I never had to reset because of it, and Nue herself is an extremely fun encounter - even if her difficulty pales in comparison to some of the others. Nue's fight is flashy, cool, and does at least provide some decent challenge as each shot-type has a better and worse time on at least a few of her attacks.

Jolly good show, laddy! Next up is most likely LoLK, though knowing me, another ExNN isn't out of the realm of possibility either. All depends on what I feel like, though I really do want to finish up my Lunatic 1CC quest so I can finally move onto even greater heights. We'll see what happens, chief!
