We are back with more danmaku dodging, and in this installment, we go after an odd musician! This puts our total to 10 ExNNs, with only two left to go. Yahoo! ^o^
So, Raiko Perfect. This one...was quite nasty, actually. A lot of Raiko's attacks - both nonspells and Spell Cards - are extremely tricky to figure out and work around. The fight is pretty stressful overall, with very few freebies alongside an extremely inconsistent opener Spell that I cannot for the life of me figure out. I know you're supposed to go after the Death Drum, but because of ReimuA's spinning gohei, I have very little control over what I hit. It really feels like a luck-based card that begs for you to speedkill it, and as a whole I don't like it.
Everything else is pretty solid here, though. The stage is rather fun, if a bit annoying due to all the times I reset over that damn First Drum. Benben and Yatsuhashi make for fairly challenging Extra midbosses, though in practice they can still be dealt with surprisingly consistently.
I really do like this Extra Stage overall, though I will admit I prefer most of the others by a long shot. Where most EX bosses have this mysterious, alien feeling to them with an unprecedented amount of power, Raiko just feels like an OP musician who we just so happened to stumble into. Again, the whole Extra is quite fun, but when compared to the others it's one of my least favorites, personally. I just don't resonate with Raiko like I do with Flandre, Ran, Yukari, Mokou, Suwako, Koishi, Nue, Mamizou...perhaps even Hecatia, actually.
...Also, the ReimuA shift-spam for optimal DPS is something I never want to see again. Thank you, ZUN. :)
Next up is...what I feel like! Most likely a Saki Perfect at this rate; will we ever get to see All ExNN Clear? Stay tuned! ^o^
