Touhou Emblem Chapter 20: Some strongman is in charge of the inner wall defenses of Former Hell city
Well, here is it, took a while to get to this? Anyways, it's about time to get the stuff for several sleep staves. They're useful maybe if you don't want to slug your way through the chapter and also disable some otherwise threatening enemies.
And yes, the shops are literally in the single tile stairs. The left one has some late game physical weapons (now you can stock on Spears and Tomahawks!), and the other shop... sells the Sleep Staff. Oh, this could be quite a trouble, but I end up only buying three of them (again, it might be me confident enough we won't have a lot of situations to use sleep staves in en-masse for now).
Almost every single enemy in this chapter is now promoted, and in fact, this is the last chapter with unpromoted enemies. Make sure to promote everyone who's you're going to plan to use... and if you're out of Master Seals, sorry, but it's time to use late game or pre-promoted mid-game units now! (there are way more characters than you can expect, which also helps for ironman runs.)
Now, it looks like the only named enemy is the boss but, isn't directly marked. Yuugi has pretty much prepromote Warrior stats. It just happens that there are two characters who can talk and recruit her. One of them is Suika, the- oh darn, that's the one unit I'm literally using in almost every chapter. Also can nullify most physical damage at this point, it just makes her so appealing to use until the endgame. The other unit that can recruit Yuugi is happen to be the one you get right at the start of this chapter, that's right, it's Yamame.
Again, Yamame has a personal class and personal weapons that no one else can equip, but she has unlimited uses of them if you really want to use her. However, she's vulnerable to magic (especially from Bishops, likely a leftover coding from TSS), and is locked to direct melee range only.
Oh by the way, this might be the hardest legendary weapon to get, but if you can bait Yuugi as an enemy (and ONLY as *red* enemy unit) into the Kourindou underground shop, she'll have the Labrys axe, with 20 MT and +5 STR bonus! If you're forced to end up killing her, don't worry, she drops it when defeated. But agaian, it's better to recruit. This is why I use Suika as bait without the hand axe to get Yuugi to attack from indirect range (thinking the AI would benefit from combat rounds where the player unit cannot counterattack).
There are plenty of reinforcement enemies though if you're taking too long, and not to mention there's a Bolting Sage. Also, there are enemies with non-droppable Physic staves, so go grab your Sunny (or Tewi) if you can to steal these Physic staves. I have a lot of them, but strangely enough, I'm still missing staff ranks on Reimu (Darn it! WEXP system sucks!)
Next up will be the big one: the hardest chapter so far, as well as the beginning of the route split. That's right, I'll make one video each for the last 6 chapters (indicating the difference between the Buddhist and Taoist routes). When you reach chapter 21, there's a "Yes or No" choice. "Yes" to side with Buddhists.
Exclusive playable late-game characters to Buddhist route are: Kyouko (Paladin, the class that Wriggle promotes to), Eiki (Spellsword, the other one aside from Star in Buddhist route), Ichirin (War Monk, which the class that Murasa promotes to), Nazrin (Trickster), Shou (Dragoon), Nue (Griffin Rider, pre-promoted Pegasus Knight) and Byakuren (Saint, the Buddhist route version Gotoh archetype).
Exclusive playable late-game characters to Taoist route are: Soga (a Sage, just like Keine's shifted form and Mokou's promotion), Iku (the only other Medic aside from Ran), Tenshi (gets her own personal class, Catastrophe, uses swords), Seiga (the only other Summoner aside from promoted Alice), Kasen (the game's only Dragon Rider), Futo (a Spellsword, the only one aside from Star in Taoist route), and finally, Miko (Savior, the Taoist route's Gotoh archetype).
