Touhou Unification of the Artful Rain Trial | Lunatic No Bomb 1CC MarisaA
After a few hours of practice and attempts, this is the best I've done so far. I want to LNN this, but I will most likely not get it anytime soon. Replaying the same 3 levels over and over again gets a little boring after a while. Something to note is that this game also has another mechanic called Rain Event Skill, where you can activate a "bonus time" by pressing C if the Flow meter on the right is full. Different Characters get different abilities with it. Reimu doesn't lose a life if she gets hit, Marisa gets more power, and Komachi gets extra bonus points. Komachi is only in the full game unfortunately. My guess is that Komachi will be the score character for the game.
This game is great so far. I love just about everything about it. The patterns are good, the presentation is great, the music is so good, and the game overall has really good balance so far. And it has a Bee girl! I love bees. My only real complaint is Stage 2's final spell. This survival is super annoying and kills all my No Miss attempts. It's only the last part that's an issue. Either slow it down or increase the gap some because at the moment it requires practically frame perfect movement to get through. I'm also requesting an Infinite Timer option so that it's not absurdly tedious to practice Nonspells. The timer is too short to effectively practice nons so an infinte timer or boss rush option would really help. I mean, they went through the trouble to include an auto bomb option so why not include this? Cause this would actually be helpful.
MarisaB is definitely better, though I choose MarisaA because she has piercing lasers! That and I'm tired of Missile Marisa, though if I wanted this to be a mostly free LNN I'd use MarisaB. She does way more damage.
Stage 1 is very easy, though Daiyousei can sometimes meme you with a very uncertain pattern with her spell, though it's usually very free. This and stage 2's midboss are really the only patterns I can find that aren't static.
Stage 2 can be a little annoying but overall it's a well made stage. The midboss spell gave me some really dumb RNG but I got through it surprisingly. The boss's first spell is also a little annoying. I've never been a big fan of bullets from off screen, but I can give this a pass since the boss is kinda built around it. I'm 99% certain the second non has cheese potential but I can't exactly practice it very well so yeah. The second spell is completely static, it's not even based on the bosses movements either. I've already ranted about the final spell.
Stage 3 isn't that hard though it can be silly at times. The bosses Nonspell are all static but they are based on the bosses movements somewhat. The midboss non probably being the hardest to learn. This is why I say longer/infinite timers would be great for practice. The spells are all static except the last one that is kinda based on the bosses movements. Boss movements are for the most part, a little random. Or at least it is for the final spell of stage 3, but only the first set of bullets. I kinda got unlucky and she moved to the left and prevented me from killing her. I swear I pressed right right there, idk maybe my keyboard is acting up :/ I don't understand hitboxes in this game yet. I swear I've been completely inside bullets and lived and died from the air around some of the same bullets.
Anyways, that was my No Bomb clear of this really good fan game. Overall I really like it so far. I don't get why some people hate static patterns. Imo static patterns are good bullet hell design because it means that deaths are entirely your fault. MoF's extra is being uploaded right now. I destroyed Suwako. I might hold off on LNN for this until the full game? Not sure yet. If the rest of the game is as well designed as this then LNN might be pretty easy to get. Though I'll say it again, Infinite Timer option please.
