Traditional Levels #1 (GameFAQs User Levels) - Super Mario Maker 2
Although it’s fun to play around with the bizarre physics and tools found in Super Mario Maker 2, I appreciate stages that focus on straight-up platforming. Let’s play some levels that users have labeled “traditional,” putting Mario’s good ol’ formula to use. I have feedback for every level below.

Riverside Hideout
5M3-4LT-HQG
- A fun course that feels traditional while adhering to a theme
Spinach Pathway
RXT-9M2-8GF
- I thought that spring would serve some sort of purpose.
- The level’s aesthetics could be better. There was a lot of ground just floating around.
- I think an arrow or something should have been near the checkpoint; I got turned around!
- Fun to play, though, and I appreciated the different choices of powerups.
Getting Started
V3K-VGR-GFG
- Too many sound effects
- Waiting for the shell to trigger the vine took a while
- I did enjoy the retro feel. It certainly could be the first level in an actual Mario game.
Lakitu Heights
FPL-2YK-NSG
- One line of blocks early on looked like it should house a secret, but it was just a trap. At least, it seemed odd to me.
- The autoscroller section was a clever concept.
Bring the tower down
P96-49B-8LF
- Aesthetics could be much better. Many rooms were floating, the ceilings were often jagged, random lines, and the ground usually wasn’t filled in.
- The final part of the climb seemed a bit unfair with enemies coming from nowhere off the screen.
- An arrow could have made it clearer where you were supposed to start destroying things in Mega form.
- I liked the challenge! It kept me on my toes.
Airship Mayhem
K19-FSX-XTG
- That leaf is awkwardly difficult to get due to the wings on it.
- The ending killed me just because I couldn’t see what was below me...
Hop Along
P50-QT1-G1G
- The coin trails between enemies never showed the actual trajectory you should take for your bouncing.
- It was a fun, quick challenge.
