Trinity Trigger: Hear their bs err Here! There! Bullseye!
Good lord this game is terrible, but it can be salvaged with some tradeoffs (you can't fix 2 player early and that chest opening out of range was even worse than valkyrie elysium/atelier sophie 2).
It sucks that you:
1) Need DLC weapons (press - with R for ring menu to change weapons) given the low stamina (one 3 hit combo and you get gassed). So you trade-off physical art/sound for digital deluxe or paying more for all the extra episodes and such (thankfully on sale though switch only for $36 digital deluxe at time of recording, but it loads/performs decently).
2) Reverting to Japanese dub for repetitive battle/menu dialogue requires a restart, and the anime cutscenes will not have English subtitles.
3) Cannot play 2 player until you have 3 characters.
4) Are stuck with the potion crafting, but I did get extras that was nice (buying is more expensive).
5) Have a level cap for the altars while enduring the formulaic inntel (Intel at inns), traverse to unlock altar, use trigger points at new weapon level (while only using 3 skills), and go to next town to repeat.
6) Once you unlock 3P multiplayer with Zantis, do not use the bow and you have way less battle chatter. You also have a weapons cap for and side quests to enhance the game.
I guess this is also so bad it's good, though I also didn't record how the merchants reiterate themselves like God Wars. I do feel I have played worse games and it has its moments.
There is some quality of life over collection of mana (maps with chest counts/visibility, and not having to charge special moves/weapon levels like secret of mana, or in trials of mana's case, risk counterattacks from doing special moves, though the trials remake was easy with terrible English acting for Charlotte/Angela's eek jumping).
