[TRIP REPORT] Lao Airlines ATR 72-600 From Vientiane VTE To Luang Prabang LPQ In Economy
14Lao Airlines is the state owned airline of Laos. They mainly offer domestic and regional international flights from Vientiane Wattay International Airport and Luang Prabang International Airport. This unassuming airline seems to be pretty unknown in the Western world, but I came across the opportunity to try them out unexpectedly.
My trip to Laos was to try out the brand new Lao China Railway. However, things weren't really in my favor and I didn't managed to buy a ticket when I was in Laos. Apparently there were construction works going on in which they cancelled out all the trains for roughly a week. I already booked accomodation in Luang Prabang and somehow had to get there from Vientiane by the end of the day.
To be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to an 8 hour bus trip. Luckily enough, I was able to purchase a relatively cheap ticket with Lao Airlines from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. Their competitor Lao Skyways had even lower prices, but I do favor a morning flight over an evening one. In this trip report we are going to find out how Lao Airlines is on a domestic flight!
