[TRIP REPORT] Vietnam Airlines Airbus A321 From Phnom Penh PNH To Vientiane VTE In Economy Class
7Vietnam Airlines operates a very unique fifth freedom flight between Hanoi and Saigon. Flight VN 920 starts in the south in Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and goes north to Hanoi (HAN), but makes a stopover in Phnom Penh (PNH) Cambodia and Vientiane (VTE) Laos. Flight VN 921 does the same, but in southern direction. This creates a unique route where Vietnam Airlines can pick up and drop off passengers in Cambodia and Laos between their two major hubs.
This trip report covers the route between Phnom Penh and Vientiane. The longest of the three sectors flown, in which there will also be a meal served. There is only a drink service provided for the other two parts. We will be travelling onboard of the Airbus A321-200 in economy class, the backbone of the Vietnam Airlines fleet. They may be a little bit old, but can still offer good comfort on shorthaul flights.
