The Railjet is the flagship train of the Austrian Railway company ÖBB. These sleek trains connect several European cities with its hub in Vienna. You can find them in Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy. All railjets have second class, first class, business class and a dining car.

To travel in business class is very straight forward, but very different from what you would normally expect. Business class is only available as an upgrade from first class. This means that every passenger having a valid first class ticket for the Railjet may buy the upgrade, which is a fixed price of just 15 EUR. This is bookable via the ÖBB website mentioned below.

In train terminology the business class is a higher class than first class, while in the aviation industry it's the other way around. There is no food or drink included in the fare, but the dining car crew will come by every now and then to serve you at your seat. Order something from the affordable menu and enjoy your ride!
