The Hida Limited Express operated by JR Central is the main choice of many travellers looking to visit the mountainous Hida region. Most tourists in the Gifu prefecture are heading towards the World Heritage Site of Shirakawago, while also exploring the historical towns of Takayama and Hida-Furakawa.

For many years the KiHa 85 series were deployed on the Hida Limited Express service connecting Nagoya with Toyama via Gero and Takayama. Since 2022 new trains made their debut. The HC85 series builed by Nippon Sharyo would gradually replace them. Time to catch a ride on them and see how comfortable they are!
