Trying a Co-op Top-down Melee RPG | Arran: The Book of Heroes - Northwind Sewers
Hello everyone! The Steam Next Fest is over, but I still have some gameplays to share with you, and this is the turn for Arran: The Book of Heroes, a co-op top-down RPG that is mostly focus in melee combat. In this video we are playing the Northwind Sewers quest, and will upload another video with The Forlorn Hills quest (the 2 available in the demo). So far, there is not a lot to do in this game, you just smash the attack key and run from enemies when they tell you to run. You have 5 characters, each one with a melee, a ranged weapon and a ability, which they don't tell you exactly what it does. There are skill trees apparently, but not available in the demo here.
The runs here work as in the Warhammer: Vermintide games, but with a top-down view. Sadly, it felt really repetitive we just kill some enemies smashing a key, then keep moving, then repeat until they tell us to run. We also found keys, but never used them and had no idea how or why (same with money). We actually played another run before this one, and we died when we had to run away because we were holding the keys hoping to use them and didn't get the potions.
Also, the Overall movements and attacks feel to slow-paced considering it is a pretty straightforward adventure.
