Well, I knew this was coming eventually. Not gonna lie, I wasn't all too excited when I received this cart; instead, I pretty much only cared about Broken Sord Collection. xD
However, I new this collection has some good games, and was looking forward to playing some of them again.
The Curse of Illmoore Bay is a decent-enough platformer. It is definitely a game, is playable, and is a nice time in small bursts. I don't have much else to really say, to be honest. This game is fine. :)
Unfortunately, for some reason, from 2:27 to 11:11 my mic's audio cuts out during the first 8 minutes of The Curse of Illmoore Bay, and I have no idea why. I look at my audio levels during the stream, and they never stopped? And why it just randomly came back mystifies me even more.
Block'Em Sock'Em, on the other hand, is not fine. It is broken, and inconsistent. It is bad.
Nyghtmare: The Ninth King is...*fine*. Not "fine" like Illmoore Bay, but fine as in "acceptable". Hard to control, high difficulty at the beginning, kinda unpleasant. It's playable, but that's about all it has going for it.
Jane Aust4en's 8-bit Adventure was a breath of fresh air. I forgot how fun this game actually is, and I was very happy to play it again here. It's a simple, but fun 8-bit platformer and it really shines on this collection.
I was kind of negative in this part, but I now that will improve in the next one. 2024's Game of the Month program just started out kind of rough, but it definitely got better. :)
Games Played (with their Timestamps):
1. The Curse of Illmoore Bay (2:06)
2. Block'Em Sock'Em (21:16)
3. Nyghtmare: The Ninth King (29:21)
4. Jane Austen's 8-bit Adventure (44:01)
