Trying Toaplan Arcade 4 (Part 1) [Evercade #260]

Okay, so, this is probably the last Toapan Arcade cart we're gonna get. They were already scratching the bottom of the barrel with a console game on the cart.
Sky Shark, the aforementioned console game, isn't very good. After recording Part 2, I went back to Toaplan Arcade 1 and played Flying Shark again to see what it was like.
That wasn't that good either (in comparison to Toaplan's later games). I guess it's faithful in that regard? But yeah, Sky Shark is just a pass.
Pipi & Bibi's is a strange game, if only for the stuff in between the stages. Gameplay itself is pretty standard, actually. I like single-screen games, and this one is no exception. I just don't see how the giant photos of the (nude with DIP Switches) girls relate to the game at all.
Dogyuun perplexes me. The music (what 'e heard) is great, and the gameplay is tight like I've come to know from Toaplan. But this upgrade-module-system-thing doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I want to learn how to play this one!
So yeah, this first half of the cart was weird. Sky Shark just seems like the weakest game on any Toaplan cart, so that's saying something. And the other 2 I like enough, but they confuse me.
I wonder how Part 2 will fare...

1. Sky Shark (3:14)
