Trying Data East Arcade 2 (Part 2) [Evercade #256]
Watch me Live!: https://www.twitch.tv/Joshua8600
Okay I did not record this directly after the last; I intended to, but Shaun wanted to watch live and he had to go after I finished. xD
Anyway, this video had a very interesting selection of games!
Express Raider, just like Shoot Out, is a fantastic surprise! I do think the shooting sections are unbalanced compared to the platforming sections, but it is still a very fun time. :D
SRD: Super Real Darwin is another Darwin shoot-em-up. Not good, not bad. It's alright. The description at least makes it sound very complex, and arcade games are not supposed to be complex. And like the first Darwin game, its very hard to see projectiles coming at you because they don't stand out from the background. Just that one change would have made the experience much better, honestly.
Midnight Resistance is very tough, just like the console version we got at the launch of the Evercade. A bit too tough, to be honest. I think this is one of those games where it expects too much of you, too early on. The game makes sense, but it's just too much at the start of the game and I can see it alienating players on its original release.
Crude Buster is probably my 2nd-least favorite on this cart so far (my least favorite is B-Wings). It just kind of bores me, and it's slow too. It's fine as a beat-em-up, I guess, but there are much better ones on offer on Evercade that I could just play instead of this.
Only one more video left for this cart! And I think it might be the wildest batch of the three! xD
