An xbox emulator that seems to be based of Qemu - a very capable multi platform multi system emulator capable of emulation of many different architectures ranging from ARM to PPC and much more. The xbox emulation is a low level emulation which actually means that there is a ton of games already compatible with this emulator.
As the entire Xbox system is emulated sadly the emulator needs quite a fair bit of overhead as the Xbox wasn't a slouch with it's Celeron / Pentium III architecture and Nvidia GPU.
It is possible to get the original Xbox dash on the emulated harddrive which does give it a true original Xbox feel. Network support is also there and two computers each running Xemu can have local multiplayer LAN games with games that support it!

Is there a need for such an emulator? Yes when it comes to game preservation. Yes, when the XBox platform Microsoft still excludes a lot of Xbox titles from it's backwards compatibility list.

My old but still very much in use Dell Dell Inspiron with a i7 3770 and a GTX1050, and 16Gb of DDR3 memory at 1600Mhz seemed like an ideal target to try out this emulator on. I can conclude it struggles more than on faster systems. The i7 3770 might be comparable to an FX8350 and on the Intel 4th gen and Amd ZEN architectures the emulator does fair substantially better.
