Turn Water Spout into a healing move (Generation III)
Read description for more information:
This is an original find, but I would like to thank Huskies Plays for their idea on my HP drain glitch video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7CmRMN-OjA
HP drain glitch is a glitch in Ruby and Sapphire only where if you use a max stat Kyogre's full HP Water Spout with +6 Special Attack against a Geodude or Sandshrew it will faint but the HP bar won't drain.
Now, Huskies Plays asked:
"What would happen if: 65535 hp (pomeg glitch or hax)
Max Sp. Atk
Max Sp. Atk boost
Water Spout
Would the game crash?"
If you meet these requirements (65534-5 HP is possible with the Pomeg glitch; where you use a Pomeg Berry at 1 HP when the Pokémon has a number of HP EVs) and also disable "battle scene", then Water Spout will deal no damage (but will hit) if Geodude's HP is full or heal its HP. Sometimes the HP bar will drain to be empty and sometimes it won't. If it is empty, opening the Pokémon or items menu will restore it to full HP. If you capture the Geodude with 5 or less Pokémon, it will have full HP.
I suspect that the damage was too high and overflowed to a negative value.
If you use another move like Surf after using Water Spout (perhaps one that doesn't deal as much damage) then Geodude will faint.
If Geodude's HP was not full and you use the boosted '65535 HP Water Spout', it will heal its HP.
If you trade the negative HP Pokémon over to FireRed or Emerald, this glitch will also work there, unlike the HP drain glitch.
Note: You have to disable "battle scene" because using certain moves like Water Spout when the user has 'negative HP' may cause a "sprite glitch". I will make a compilation video of these some day, hopefully soon. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pomeg_glitch#Sprite_glitch Water Spout's sprite glitch is pretty interesting.
The sprite glitch for Water Spout has the enemy sprite moving right across the screen disappearing and reappearing along the way, then later you can see the sprite come back from the left (so that you may see two sprites) and they come together and then go away from each other (one going left, another right) until they come off the screen, and later they will come back to join each other again.
