This video tutorial shows you how to setup a very basic turn/grid based movement system in gamemaker studio. The follow up video will be an advanced version.

What is this video about?
Here I show you how to setup the turn/grid based movement, which is has a base of 16 by 16 pixels. So you effectively teleport along a defined grid. The other thing shown here is how you can setup the a smart grid which is only being shown on the terrain which is being used to move on. The idea behind it is quite simple. Fill up an array with all possible x and y position for a 16x16 grid sprite. All these are being flagged with = 1. Then substract all those that have a collision with the invisible wall and reset them to a value of 0. Draw only those flagged with 1.
