As the reduction of UK forces continues in Afghanistan, ammunition is being brought back home, or destroyed.

By the end of this year there will be fewer than 6000 troops in the country.

Some surplus stocks are being freighted back to Britain. But thousands of bullets, shells and explosives near the limit of their safe life are being destroyed where they lie.
