Another landmark on the transition of British forces in Helmand away from a fighting role has been reached.

Hundreds of armoured vehicles specifically designed for patrolling in Helmand are being withdrawn to Camp Bastion.

The Jackals which proved their worth as well-armed, fast patrol vehicles - and their longer-wheelbase Coyote variant - will gradually be shipped home, where they will form the backbone of future high-mobility operations.
