Flower Power!
WINNER of the 2019 Cardboard Edison Games Award

Umbra Via is an abstract floral bidding board game where players are competing to gain control of different paths using energy flowers acquired from their player bags. Each round, players will engage in a double auction where players will compete and bid for up to four tiles. The player who bids the highest number of flowers will gain the power to place that tile out onto the main game board. The catch here is that the tile with the fewest number of flowers is placed first so bidding big on a single tile means that that particular tile most likely will get placed last. So turn order and bidding strategy matters!

There are also some special tiles that help to change the bidding and where the energy flowers go.

The player who completes a path then triggers a summoning, meaning that players have to count up the number of energy flowers that each player has on the path to determine who is first, second, third etc... The first player gains soul flowers equal to the number of tiles in the completed path.

The player who claims all of their soul flowers and their double soul flower tile itself will win the game!

Is this game like Azul? Well apart from the tiling, this game feels more like Tsuro mixed with Naga Raja.
