Unreal II - Hell - Axon Laboratory Part 1
The first few sections of the second combat level are less involved with actual fighting than it is with setting up the scene. There is little to do with skill and rather just letting the story play itself out as you get to various scripted scenes. Its not until the end of this particular portion of the level where the true threat comes out and what you will be fighting against for the remainder of your time in the Axon labs. So enjoy the atmosphere and the rapport between John and Aida.
Personal Thoughts: Just like in the previous combat level, I actually loved the initial setup of the primary enemy. They slowly give to you the details as to what could possibly have transpired in the labs but not until the end of this movie do you really get to see what it is you'll be fighting. Talk about cinematic pacing, if I didn't know any better, I have a feeling that is what the developers were striving for. There are some sections of Unreal II, like this one, where it just feels like movie pacing, and then other times their attempts at such have just failed.
Difficulty Analysis: Obviously it is Easy up until you finally encounter the menace that is plaguing the Axon labs. At that point, it 'might' become Moderate until you know how to successfully deal with the pests. The new Flamethrower is your friend!
