Unreal II - Introduction to Avalon
1This level, there isn't much to talk about. It is a nice introduction to John Dalton and where he is in his life. He is patrolling a very boring part of space after being pigeon-holed by the military for some, as of yet, unknown reason. He wants to move up and to matter again, but is not given the chance. You get a nice view of Avalon but no real chance to explore it yet.
Personal Thoughts: I rather liked this introduction, it wasn't dramatic or anything extravagant, but it suited the purpose well for introducing you to the mechanics of the game (movement and {if you accepted the tutorial} how to run and gun properly). The story starts off a bit slow and doesn't really reveal much as to what will transpire over the course of the game, but it sets up the world-hopping aspect by making you a patrol-marshal paid to keep the peace in certain sectors of space. The level itself can be pretty taxing for an old system, so the intro level alone is a good indicator if your computer is strong enough to handle the rest of the game, so use it as a benchmark.
