US Tech Stocks See Slight Recovery; Asian Indices Lower But In Recovery Mode In Early Trade | ET Now
2US indices were mixed in trade on Tuesday with tech stocks seeing a recovery in trade. The Nasdaq in fact was in the green but the Dow and the S&P 500 continued to close lower. 5th consecutive day lower for the S&P 500, yesterday and the benchmark index is now down 22% from its high in what clearly can be termed as bear market territory. Most importantly, the focus has shifted back on to central banks and their policy response to the surging inflation with an increasing likelihood of the Fed hiking rates by 75 basis points.
