Use Original GameCube Controllers On The Switch 2 | Retro Fighters BattleDock
70Big news today coming from Retro Fighters, one of my favorite video game accessory manufacturers. I'm not only a fan of their products, I am a fan of the people too. This is why when they have new product releases I will generally back them fairly quickly. Their newest project to hit Kickstarter is something that should appeal to those with a Nintendo Switch 2 who are fans of the Nintendo GameCube, particularly the GameCube controller. This is the BattleDock, designed to transform your Nintendo Switch 2 dock into a four-player GameCube controller adapter. Let's take a look.
This is something that Robert and his team have been working on for quite some time, but needed to get their hands on an original Switch 2 dock before they could finalize their design. The BattleDock is only compatible with the Switch 2 dock, and it is also not compatible with any third-party docks.
The way the BattleDock works is elegant in its simplicity. You place your Switch 2 dock into the BattleDock, connect the USB connections, and you can play using wired GameCube controllers. One of my favorite features of the BattleDock is the swappable faceplates. No tools are required to change the look and styling of your system as they incorporated magnets around the perimeter to hold the faces into place.
