95 Japanese Video Gaming Event VHS (1995)
A VHS tape published by Shueisha in 1995 that features clips from V Fes '95, an annual gaming event held by V Jump Magazine. V Jump is associated with Weekly Shonen Jump, but rather than manga it focuses on video games (but also includes comics). This publiscation was very popular in the 90s, focusing on games and genres enjoyed by young boys in Japan, such as RPGs, characters based on manga and anime, and games like Ganbare Goemon.
The event showcases upcoming game titles with presentation and interviews from the creators and others involved with development, such as Shigeru Miyamoto, Teruhisa "Ouji" Hiroi and Shinji Mikami. Perhaps the most interesting item from this event is footage from Twinbee Miracle, a mostly 2D PS1 RPG from Konami's Twinbee series that was ultimately canceled. Too bad, it looked good! Also, there is a short animated Dragon Quest feature made for the event at the end of the tape called (Slime's Adventure)...it's adorable.
I believe this video cassette was a "not for sale" release sent to subscribers of the magazine It has an official runtime of approximately 40 minutes.
The games featured are as follows:
Dragon Quest VI ドラゴンクエストVI
Biohazard (Resident Evil)
GO GO ACKMAN 3 ゴーゴーアックマン3
Twinbee Miracle: The Mysterious Bell Continent
This video was recorded on a Sharp VC-ES20B S-VHS deck using Sony S-video cables upscaled to 1080p 60fps via the Framemeister, captured using an AverMedia Live Gamer Mini GC311.
