This, is a monumental occasion for me as a Valis fan. With the release of the first collection, I was hopeful for Valis IV to eventually get the same treatment. While I doubt I'll do runs of the other versions of Valis I on my channel, let alone Syd of Valis, the fact I can finally understand the story brings me whole new context for this story.

Since all I knew from someone else was that Asfar was Gallagher's father. Beyond that, no context entirely for the story. Well, besides the obvious invasion, but now we have far better context, where Asfar and his kind basically ruled over Egypt for a time. And Asfar merely didn't know the quote unquote "land route to heaven", he literally took Lena and Amu to the Valley of Light where he was banished for a time, is the realm he resided in for years, is the place that has access to Heaven, less the "land route".

As for the upside down monkey in Act 2-5 and what it says, is the following.

Caption 1: Listen to what the monkey says.

Caption 2: The Valley of Light leads to the Heavens Where the famous Yuko resides.

Caption 3: Do you understand?

It's literally having the word structure backwards and upside down, where last word is first and the first word is last.

Anyway, I do apologize for the use of the rewind again, but at least I tried not to be overly liberal with it, just I'm not quite used to the final boss phases yet, but still this was the best run I could muster out of it. I really am proud of this run otherwise and the fact I can finally play this game officially, and not just use emulation is a great feeling.

Just surprised the cutscene of Yuko giving Lena a flashback of her past adventures was actually silent. I thought it was a glitch via emulation but apparently not. Either way, hope you enjoy this run of the game. This was a real special occasion for me.

Also, while I had a decent idea on Lena's character, being a very noble character, I had a feeling Amu was a bit on the more coy and somewhat not as serious character, but wow she was a little bit of a negative nancy. Maybe a slight exaggeration but to a point she has a "so done with everything" type personality.
