Playthrough with Bulleta, using the version of the game included on Capcom Fighting Collection. Vampire Savior 2 was a Japanese exclusive arcade game, released in August 1997. The cast is a mixture of the second and third games. Gallon, Aulbath and Sasquatch, who were in the original Vampire Savior have been cut, and replaced with Pyron, Phobos and Donovan. Individual character endings were removed, you get the same ending no matter who you're playing as.

I don't really get the point of this game, or Vampire Hunter 2. My understanding is Capcom couldn't fit all the characters they wanted into a single arcade board, so decided to release these sequels to appease players, I guess? They just seem a bit much for adding so little. And from what I've gathered, these games tend to get ignored competitively, everyone just plays the original Vampire Savior instead. At least the Saturn and PS1 ports featured all of the characters. Another disappointment is that this version was left untranslated, even though Capcom had previously done an English translation for it on the PSP Darkstalkers Chronicle version.

As with the other games, the CPU is overly aggressive, even though the default difficulty is only two stars out of eight. It isn't too hard to one credit clear this game if you're just doing it normally, but if you want all the hidden fights it's much harder, as you can't get downed once. With Bulleta you want to make use of her basket missiles and basic kick chain combos. Her super moves in this don't seem that good (at least against the CPU) so this was pretty tough to get the Oboro Bishamon fight done.

As with Vampire Hunter 2, this game removes the extra congratulations sequence Vampire Savior had. If you beat Oboro Bishamon in that game, you'd get a sequence featuring Anita, but it was cut from this version.
