Long overdue since about first semester of this year, I'm finally uploading this one.

Viewtiful Joe is... AWESOME! But Viewtiful Joe 2... that's just OK, unfortunately. A series that had everything to really succeed, a mix between Mega Man, Final Fight and sheer power-up creativity, Viewtiful Joe is one of the most unique games of the PS2/GCN generation, and it is one of these games that I will say, if you play this during the 2000s, you had a good childhood as far as Generation Z is concerned.

Even too with being a adult to teen, you get huge respects for liking something like this, because this here it's a RETRO as RETRO is made for in sort of a modern school (2000s to 20XX, until the fateful return of Lord Mega Man against the Corporate Willy forces) style gaming scene.

Unfortunately though Capcom hasn't done anything with this character in a long time... they've attempted a messy and unpolished but still fun Smash Bros clone for the GCN, with mixed results, and included this Henshin-A-Go-Go Baby! in Marvel VS Capcom 3, but again he seems to have fell under as a desirable character which makes me sad really... such a awesome game series he has.

Talking about the 2nd one though, specifically what makes me annoyed is that a lot of the power-ups were toned down, and you have to be a bit more strategic on their usage... alongside having mixes through tag teams and what not, which I don't think work as well here as you'd have style swaps in Devil May Cry 3. But whatever, it's still fun, though I think the levels became a bit too much to handle, too complicated at times if played in harder difficulties, but still sort of fun, though enemy types (Viewtiful Joe is all about enemy types in combat) aren't as interesting and a bit more annoying this time around.

So yes, if you got a PS2, don't mind a new school game, and are into Mega Man or Final Fight or old school Capcom, give this gem a try: you will probably love it, as I do, as I did, as I always will, because and you might not know this about me but, Viewtiful Joe 1 is my favourite retro style game that came out in modern times, with Onimusha 1 being my favourite Capcom release after the 2000s. God bless old Capcom per se, you guys did so many great games just to devolve after Marvel VS Capcom 3 into such a misguided, shitty company... sigh.
