Viking Tree Care Simulator | Roots of Yggdrasil (Roguelike Deck-Builder City Builder - Early Access)
193Roots of Yggdrasil is a game with a name I can't pronounce very well. It's also a Viking roguelike city builder deck builder game about guiding a tribe of Vikings through mysterious lands!
We arrive at an island in our magical flying Viking longboat (which is aces) in search of saplings of Yggdrasil, which it turns out is a big sacred tree, or at least I think it is. We need seeds from the saplings in order to power our magical boat onward but each sapling needs a specific thing to allow it to flourish and produce said seeds.
Some need housing built next to them, some need magical structures, others need a certain amount of exploration to be completed, they are very particular trees.
Using our deck of cards we build a little settlement, placing down homes to increase our population, resource gathering buildings to increase our economy, military buildings to boost our combat options and magical buildings to gather magic called Eitr, which is another word I can't say.
As we play we gather more cards and special buildings that allow us to do powerful things, such as smite storms and speed up exploration. However we can't take forever in our quest for magical seeds, we have to get a move on because a dark force is following us and if it catches us it's game over...
