Virtua Racing Deluxe - Highland (Formula Car)
24The Sega 32X version of Virtua Racing Deluxe being played using Kega Fusion emulator. This is one of the two additional exclusive 32X tracks that aren't in any other version of the game.
I was recording some footage of the Highland track played with the Stock car to use in another video as part of a split-screen comparison, but I decided to give the Classic Virtua Racing Formula 1 style car a try as well on this stage.
Sweet Jesus, this game is difficult. Waaaaay harder than the PS2 version of Virtua Racing. This took me ages just managing to get to 3rd place on the 'easy' setting, couldn't even catch sight of the second and first place cars. The rubber banding in this is most egregious, the 4th and 5th place cars were right up my arse the entire race.
Still, I like the design of this stage and the Sand Park one. It's a real shame M2 didn't port these tracks and the extra cars into the recent Switch version of Virtua Racing. It would've been great to see them replicated in an approximation of the original Sega Model 1 board's graphics.
