Wall Bounce Lap Skip on Donut Plains 1 (Super Mario Kart) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
7,042In Super Mario Kart for the SNES, there are numerous locations throughout the game where you can jump into a wall at just the right placement to trick the game into thinking you've completed an entire lap, when in reality, all you've done is jump face first into a wall.
In Donut Plains 1 (in the Mushroom Cup) if you immediately veer off to the right as the race begins, you can jump at the rightmost blue blocks against the wall. If you jump at the wall at just the right spot (and at the right angle and timing maybe) the game will think you're on the other side of the wall. Then when it recalculates your position, the game assumes you've completed a whole lap.
This trick allows you to basically skip laps, and can lead to some crazy times. In this video, my lowest lap time was 3.70 seconds.
The "blue blocks" I'm talking about are just to the right of the finish line on Donut Plains 1.
This glitch works on multiple courses, so I'll show those off some other time.
Btw I am playing this on the Nintendo Switch on the Super Nintendo Online collection. And yeah, I'm sure this works on the SNES Classic as well.
