War Thunder: I-185 (M-82) - The Perfect Prototype
With only one prototype ever being built of the M-82 in history, this variant of the I-185 goes down in War Thunder's Arcade Mode as a brilliant fighter that possesses all the qualities of both the Yak-3 and the La-5FN; its Soviet battle rating contemporaries at 4.0.
With a tight turn circle that may only be bested by the Spitfire F. Mk. IX and the A6M3 Reisen, a climb rate which matches if not surpasses all potential foes (even the P-63A-10), and a brutal armament of three 20mm Cannons based around the nose, this plane can seem a nightmare to contend with. Indeed, the plane is highly competitive, but falls short in one category: durability.
As soon as this plane starts taking hits, its maneuverability begins to decline rapidly, its fuel tanks are highly prone to leaking, and, if hit by incendiary rounds, the plane is highly susceptible to catching fire. Hence, a good I-185 pilot will try to always minimize exposure to fire, whilst maximizing time on target.
Set-up:
20mm ShVAK Cannons: Stealth Ammunition
Gun Convergence: 500m
Fuel Load: 30 minutes
