Having flown the A6M2, the A6M3 took me by surprise simply because it falls just short of the A6M2 as a brilliant turn-fighter, but it makes up for this by being a much better energy fighter. With the lock-up of control surfaces now arising at 650 km/h (rather than as early as 500 km/h), one is able to use the A6M3 in short boom and zoom passes which can evolve into tight turn fights where the pilot deems necessary.
