Axios' Stephen Totillo is reporting that WB Games's 11 studios are being broken up as part of a new joint venture between US media giants AT&T and Discovery.
These studios include Rocksteady (Arkham series), NetherRealm (Mortal Kombat), Monolith (Shadow of Mordor), TT Games (Lego Star Wars), Avalanche Software (Hogwarts Legacy) and many others. The future of the studios is uncertain, with Totillo reporting "some of the gaming arm will stay with AT&T and some will go with the new company." The news follows reports from last July that Microsoft was interested in acquiring WB Games as part of AT&T's plan to divest it's portfolio (covered in Episode 001) - https://bigwigpod.com/#001.
