WedSNESday: Let's Play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
Luke rises to the challenge in this week's WedSNESday and tackles a game with a history of infamy among gamers as being both obtuse in control and poor in many ways in design, but remains a classic of its era: the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, by Ultra Games (An imprint of Konami). Will Luke & Matt decide that the game is deserving of its bad reputation, or will Luke prove that he's a bad enough dude to save April O'Neal?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was published by Konami under its Ultra and Palcom labels in 1989, during the rise of the popularity of the now legendary and oft-remade comics by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. It is infamous for being one of the most difficult games ever released on the NES, next to the other notable mutant martial artist title, Battletoads.
WedSNESday is the Level 0 NPCs weekly series where we play one older game for one episode, just to relive the nostalgia and maybe make your hump day just a little bit more fun.
