In Let's Play Crawl, the players take on the role of adventurers, attempting to defeat the evil that lurks deep within the pit so that they may escape with their mortal souls, but much like in Highlander, there can be only one - while one player fights for their life as a human, the other two players play the role of vengeful spirits, inhabiting monsters and traps, and ultimately the game's bosses, to defeat and impede the living player. The player that can manage to defeat the boss wins.
