WedSNESday Special: Let's Play Ardy Lightfoot - Episode 5 - Soup talk at Beecroft Manor
It's WedSNESday! Let's Play Ardy Lightfoot! The game where an unidentifiable felinesque protagonist battles other anthropomorphic monsters while tomb raiding and throwing around a Kirby analogue.
This week on Ardy Lightfoot:
Ardy finishes his epic battle against the owl freebooter Gilson, then after commandeering their pirate ship and forcing them to fly the Lightfoot colors, Ardy lands on the Isle of Ruins, home to the stronghold of Visconti's Lupine general, Beecroft.
Ardy Lightfoot was developed and published in 1993 in Japan by ASCII entertainment, then localized and published in the West by Titus the following year. It tells the story of a catlike anthropomorph called Ardy Lightfoot, with his throwable kirby-like monster buddy "Pec", traversing the world looking for the crystal shards that make up a sacred rainbow. It's basically the plot of Journey to the West, but without Son Goku. It features fantastic sprite work by Takashi Tory, and big, interesting level designs, but is classically "SNES tough".
