0Hello there, all you wonderful people, and welcome to another episode of An Ecologist Plays, where we talk about nature while playing games! We recently started playing Icarus, and it has been so much fun that we decided to play it a bit during live streams... so, here we are with Part 5 (of five) of the live stream we had on 29 January 2025. In this part of the stream, we start with a bit of firefighting, as a massive lightning storm has ignited the forests near our base. The solution? Remove all the small plants around the burning trees! We also set out to collect some more ore, and manage to officially tams our first bunch of creatures, including a moa and some horses...
Of course, as we play through the game, I discuss the ecology and adaptations of the various plants and animals we encounter, and answer any questions you may have.
