What If Marvel Zombies Episode 5 First Look Breakdown + Zombie Origin FOOTAGE & Death Predictions
329So, we got new character posters that were just released by Marvel Studios for What If Episode 5 and we got Marvel Zombies in the next episode of What if, so let’s take a look at the pieces from the old trailer to piece together what we can expect from this episode.
So, let’s talk about the character posters being zombie captain America and zombie hawkeye which could insinuate that they are the first avengers to receive the marvel zombies virus, but I don’t think they are the first to receive the zombie virus in general. No, I think it’s Janet. Janet in the quantum realm, in this universe, the realm has affected her and formed her into a zombie. So, this means that our story picks up in Ant-man and the wasp, where Hank goes down to get Janet, before he could escape once he realizes what Janet has become, Janet bites him, but hank still returns to the surface, where now he is a zombie and begins to infect Ant-man and wasp; then there is that ripple effect where ant-man goes to the avengers compound like in Avengers Endgame and then infects Captain America from that scene, but Black Widow narrowly escapes; or so says the trailer footage of her potentially being a survivor.
Next, we got to talk about how dangerous the avengers are as zombies because they aren’t stupid. They are, in fact, retaining the abilities of the host that the zombies take over. Such as Zombie Captain America holding his own against Bucky, as he can in the movies.
Now, the virus spreads throughout the entire avengers team except for Black Widow, because check it out, Iron Man is a marvel zombie, and not only him, but the black order too. Now, the Janet theory could work out that everything happens after infinity war, but I disagree. I think that the events of hank going to the realm happens earlier so that black order members like coal obsidian could still be alive to get the zombie virus
And if the black order is affected by the zombie virus, you have to wonder with Thanos having some infinity stones, most of the gauntlet filled even, if maybe thanos will be affected by the virus, but that’s not my theory. My theory is that thanos actually aids in the conflict. If he had all stones, the conflict would be over in a snap of his fingers, so he doesn’t have all stones. But, we’ve already seen that Thanos, when reasoned with, he can be swayed to the side of good, or the side that will aid in immediate conflict, and what more conflict is more immediate than the marvel zombie outbreak?
I think that the cure for the zombies won’t come fast enough, so we can expect a few of our major marvel characters to die permanently in this episode and in this universe. Of which, we can probably expect cap, iron man, and hawkeye to definitely die. I also think that Hulk would be immune to the virus considering that gamma could likely be part of the cure and who else better to synthesize a gamma cure, than the one who understands its biology the most?
Lastly, I think in this episode Nick Fury for sure will run some underground survivor rebellion of scavengers type thing. Like in the apocalypse movies and tv shows, there is always that safe haven, or supposed safe haven, and I think that we will see Nick Fury or even Black Widow run that haven. Black Widow was going to run her own haven in endgame, in fact, she was supposed to run an orphanage in endgame, but the plot point was taken out and maybe saved for this episode.
Personally, I really hope this episode pushes the fold that marvel holds itself back on. For zombies, you got to go blood, you gotta go gross with it. Zombies are beings without limits, so push the hardcore part of that.
