What's It Like Playing Starfield On Xbox Series S, How Does It Run, Is It Worth Buying A Console For
I'll make no bones about it, I think Starfield is a very special game, and if you're still on an Xbox One or PS4, now might be the time to upgrade to a next Gen Series S, because it's a lot cheaper than even a new graphics card for a Gaming PC, and Starfield runs just fine.
Starfield on the Xbox Series S does run at around 30fps, and the motion blur to help with this isn't the best I've seen, but it is very early days for this game and I'm sure in the coming months we'll see multiple optimization passes that make it smoother with a faster FPS and I wouldn't be surprised if a performance 60fps mode is released at some point, just like Cyberpunk 2077.
The graphics on Xbox Series S look great in the "grittier" places and locations, but this isn't the consoles fault, it's that the first places you visit in Starfield are very Sterile, and don't show off the games graphics engine to it's best capability - as you play you'll find much better looking locations.
In conclusion then, I'll say it is worth upgrading from a last-gen PS4 or Xbox One to an Xbox Series S for Starfield, I think it runs fine, and there's no argument that Microsoft Baby Console is an absolute bargain anyways!
Thanks, Rob.
