Rambleabout regarding death, popkill, and the community's general fear of them. Recorded during a game and using it as a framing device.

The game has since concluded, and since the outro I recorded was trash, I'll put a short summary here instead. The game was ended turn 85 by player assent, and we decided that Pyth and Cael (positions 1 and 2) could share the victory, with Gath (me), Utgard, and Midgard as also-rans. I domkilled lemuria that same turn. Cael had recently cast Gift of Nature's bounty, which is why they were in the lead.

All the death and popkill finally started to hurt my game around turn 80 ish, when I had to majorly cut mage and troop production to afford Gath's 800g temples. Scoregraphs revealed that I was worst or near worst income of the 5 remaining major players, thought I was between 2nd and 3rd in provs, and had good gem income.

So while not free precisely, these things weren't really crippling either. I think I suffered more from my own mistakes.
