Why Dark Souls 3 PvP is considered boring or how Poise could've saved competitive META
I've wanted to talk about this for quite some time and somehow decided that this is the best way cover it (it probably isn't).
The problem with Dark Souls 3 PvP is that all openings are extremely unsafe and shit. See, standing pressure can cost you a life if you whiff in a bad moment and neutral openings, despite being 'as safe as possible', can still be traded with (or without) a tiny bit of lag... which makes the competitive play boring and lame to spectate (or experience), since you are left with no good offensive option.
It could've been solved with a simple addition of poise in any way, except the way we have it now. As much as I dislike Dark Souls 1 kind of poise, it does offer way more than DkS3 can ever offer. Give it (DkS3) some kind of poise and it would eliminate the staleness, introduce combos and make many more builds viable.
...or give Dark Souls 3 those nutty Dark Souls 1 backstabs. It would pretty much do the same, but eh.
