Oh hey, I'm still stuck but I figured I should take the time to educate you gringos on some real mexican culture.
A few things to add since this came straight from the dome;
-Japanese anime/media didn't start to air in the 90s in fact my dad told me he actually saw the original Ultraman when he was a kid so this has been around for years.

-Another thing to add is that Malcolm and The Simpsons were very relatable to us since they basically dealt with disfunctional families but did it in a funny way.

-The fact we didn't dub anime like Code Geass, Gurren Lagann or Panty and Stockin even to this day is DOWN RIGHT CRIMINAL.

-I mostly talked about properties that weren't originally from mexico so you all have a better idea as to why the selection got so out there.

-The more kid oriented stuff was actually in bigger networks. For example Yugioh aired on Nickelodeon over here, Pokemon was on Cartoon Network and Digimon was on Jetix.

While I mostly talked from things that I personally saw and grew up with I'd like to hear from what other Mexicans and other parts of Latin America have to share on this topic.
