Why I could not get these eBay VGA converter adapters to function (answers in Comments section)

I purchased two different VGA converter adapters on eBay, and was not able to get any of them to function. I purchased a:

15-Pin VGA Male to S-Video 4-pin+RCA Composite Female Adapter Cable

Home Theater High-speed data transfer HDMI to VGA 3 RCA Adapter Cable

The 15 pin VGA male to S-Video 4 pin + RCA composite female adapter cable would not send a PC VGA image to S-Video or RCA. It would not send an RCA image to a PC monitor. The best I could get was the S-Video sent a fuzzy, blue hue monochromatic image to a PC monitor.

The HDMI to VGA 3 RCA adapter cable did not function in any way, shape or form. I could not send a HDMI image to VGA, I could not send a HDMI image and/or sound to the composite RCA connectors, I could not send a PC VGA image to HDMI, and I could not send an RCA composite image nor sound to HDMI. My Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro MK16a smartphone with micro HDMI to HDMI adapter would not even recognize when this HDMI converter adapter was hot plugged.
