The New Form We Almost Got for Optimus in ROTB. Transformers Rise of the Beasts was a very ambitious installment that tried to deliver on all fronts. It was the direct sequel to Bumblebee which was a brand-new start to the Transformers movie-verse. And as we know that movie was a lot tamer compared to the movies that came before it. But the producers wanted to take us back to the huge explosive action with Rise of the Beasts. So, they brought in that biggest villain of them all, Unicron. And they finally decided to use the Beast Wars cast. Which was a treat for fans of the series. They managed to add in a lot of things. But there were also a lot of things they left out. Such as this new form for Optimus Prime. Since the Autobots would be fighting alongside the Maximals they’d need better vehicles to help them keep up. So, Optimus was to be upgraded with an offroad alt mode. Which looked awfully like his beast hunter vehicle. Although it was ultimately cut it would see the light of day on store shelves as the Smash Changing Optimus Prime.
