Why Optimus Hated Him So Much in Transformers 3. When we first see Optimus Prime cross paths with the menacing Shockwave. We could sense that there was a lot of tension there. Even though the silent Decepticon had minimal screentime in the movie. It felt like he had a beef with the Autobot commander that went way back. Which was apparent in the way Shockwave angrily uttered Optimus Primeโs name after almost killing him with his driller. And when Optimus brutally punched Shockwave in the face and ripped out his eye screaming "YOU DIE!", like he hated him. Even though their interactions were very limited in the movie. But this hatred can be further explained in the tie-in material. Such as their interaction in the Dark of the Moon game, which was a prequel to the film. But Shockwave just happens to be the final boss in the game. And then thereโs the IDW comics, which depicts Shockwave attacking the NEST base, slaughtering all those inside, and kill most of Optimus's Autobot comrades including Jolt and Elita-1. So the guy had it coming to him.
